I'm getting trolled for dyeing a kid's hair rainbow colors

A hairstylist is clapping back after online trolls criticized her for dyeing a 6-year-old girl’s hair rainbow colors.
Kisandra Taylor posted a now-viral video on TikTok captioned: “Sydney wanted rainbow hair for the first day of 1st grade.”
In the 20-second clip, Taylor is seen dyeing the young girl’s long blond hair yellow, green, pink, blue and purple.
The final shot shows Sydney shaking out her curled rainbow locks and smiling at the camera.
The young girl seems happy with her new look, but not everyone was excited about the colorful new ‘do. Online trolls came to the comments section to express their differing opinions.
“I hope it washed out. She had gorgeous hair,” one user wrote.
“NOO HER HAIR WAS ALREADY PRETTY,” another said.

But Taylor explained in the comments that she’s done the young girl’s hair before and only ever uses semi-permanent dyes, which always wash out and her natural color returns.
She wrote: “No chemicals in this, safe for children. It’s just temporary. We do this all the time and switch up her colors.”
Many of the comments were supportive of the rainbow hairstyle, with many people wishing they could pull off the fun look.
“Yes this makes my inner child happy!” one fan replied.
“All the other kids are gonna think she’s the coolest,” another noted.
“I wish I were her,” someone commented.
Dyeing young children’s hair often leads to debate, and while this coloring washes out after 30 shampoos, some doctors advise against dyeing hair for children under 16.
“I really don’t think it’s safe to dye or bleach a child’s hair until after puberty, and ideally not until their late teens — at least 16,” Dr. Sejal Shah, a New York dermatological surgeon, told Good Housekeeping.
Children’s hair is thinner than adult hair and susceptible to change as they age. Chemicals in hair dye may cause damage to still-developing hair.
It is recommended to speak to a pediatrician before dyeing children’s hair or using the non-permanent coloring that Taylor did.
