No Botox — I tape my face every night to 'stay young'

Written by Andrew Thornton — 0 Views

A young woman has an anti-aging regimen she’s sticking to — literally.

Valerie, from Canada, is just 25 years old but swears that taping her face is the secret to staying “young forever.” She posted a TikTok video of her makeup-free face covered in pieces of sticky tape, something she says keeps her looking fresh without needing Botox.

Valerie says she places small portions of tape across her face to cover her forehead, eyebrows, nose and smile lines, and insists the simple method really works.

Viewers were shocked by her video which went viral with 2.4 million views and 266,000 likes.

The viral video is captioned, “Botox? We don’t know her.”

“If you think I look crazy, it’s because I am crazy. I have been taping my face for a while now, and it really works, and I love it,” she says in the video.

“I want to show you how to do it, why I do it, and where — and the results.”

“So I taped my face last night. The reason I started doing this was because of my eyebrow — I have very asymmetrical eyebrows . . . and it drives me insane.”

She explains how she started taping her brow upwards to lift it, before securing another piece of tape horizontally across her forehead — which she claims helps avoid wrinkles created from “scrunching” her face when she sleeps.

While Valerie says she used to have a fine line across her forehead, since using the taping method, she has no wrinkles in that area.

She then started using tape around her mouth to counteract her “very visible” smile lines, which she doesn’t want to get “too harsh.”

Valerie finishes her routine with taping her nose to lift the tip up, which she says — despite having a nose job at 17 — reduces puffiness. She tells viewers that she uses sticky skin tape, which is typically used for bandages, and removes it after a night of sleep.

After removing the mouth tapes, she says: “Usually my smile lines are so visible, but you can’t even see them now. And I wake up with my nose looking really thin, which I love.”

She ends the clip by saying: “Love it, it really works guys.”

TikTokers flooded the comments sharing their excitement for the easy tip.

Julia Fox even responded by writing: “Omggg I thought I was the only person that did this.”

This viral taping trend is different than the “dangerous” mouth-taping trend that recently spread across the internet with TikTokers advising viewers to tape their mouths shut while sleeping.

“This is one of the most dangerous trends I’ve heard of in some time, and I’m quite concerned that it is being advocated as a ‘health’ trend,” Dr. David Culpepper, a Lexington, Kentucky-based general practitioner, told Fox News Digital.

“To put it quite simply, intentionally obstructing your airways during sleep is a terrible idea.”
